வைகாசி விசாகம்

சிவபெருமானின் நெற்றிக்கண் மூலம் அவதரித்து, கார்த்திகைப் பெண்களிடம் வளர்ந்த ஆறுமுகக் கடவுளான முருகப்பெருமான் அவதரித்த நட்சத்திரம் விசாகம் நட்சத்திரம். அதன் காரணமாகவே முருகனுக்கு விசாகன் என்ற திருப்பெயரும் உண்டு. வைகாசி மாதத்தில் பௌர்ணமியும் விசாக நட்சத்திரமும் ஒன்றுகூடி வரும் நாள் வைகாசி விசாகமாகக் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

மேலும், தங்கள் முன்வினைப்பயனால் சாபம் பெற்ற ஆறு முனிவர்கள், சிவனின் அருளால் சாபம் நீங்கி, திருச்செந்தூர் சென்று முருகனை வழிபட்டு தவம் மேற்கொண்டனர். அவர்களுக்கு முருகப்பெருமான் அருள்புரிந்த நாளும் வைகாசி விசாகம் ஆகும். அன்றைய தினம் முன்வினைப்பயனால் துன்பப்படுபவர்கள் முருகப்பெருமானை வழிபட, துன்பம் நீங்கி இன்பம் பெறுவர் என்று புராணங்கள் கூறுகின்றன.

Vaikasi Visakam

Visaka Nakshatra is the incarnation star of Lord Muruga, the six-faced god who incarnated through Lord Shiva’s forehead and grew up with Kartika girls. Because of that, he is also called by the name Visakan. Vaikasi Visakam is celebrated on the day that coincides with the full moon of Vaikasi month and Visakha Nakshatra.

Vaikasi Visakam is the day Lord Muruga blessed the six sages with the grace of Lord Shiva. Puranas say that on that day, those who are suffering due to predestination worship Lord Muruga and get relief from suffering and happiness.
